🚨 NEW: Government will use public-private partnerships to help fund new Neighbourhood Health Centres – an approach FGF has championed for over a year.

A significant and welcome move that will help break the cycle of chronic underinvestment in the NHS estate.

Looking forward to seeing how the @c4research.bsky.social project develops.

It was great to be able to take part in the launch and talk about our @bennettschool.cam.ac.uk work on measuring social and cultural infrastructure.

Lots of crossovers.

If anyone (else) could do with a good news story at the moment, the population of humpback whales off the eastern seaboard of Australia is pretty much back up to pre-whaling levels.

Saw lots of them when we were over in October, but this video gives you an idea.

Well worth a look at Halima & co's research if you're interested in R&D and commercialisation infrastructure.
Today, Halima Jibril—Warwick Business School—presented her research on the UK's challenges in commercialising emerging technologies. She discussed a new framework that analyses innovation infrastructure to identify barriers to commercialisation & opportunities for policy intervention.

Productivity figures offer little reassurance for the Chancellor ahead of the Budget tmrw, writes @thomasaubreycca.bsky.social
Private-sector productivity has stagnated since Q2 2019, & even with a 1.1% flash rise including the public sector, there’s still no real sign of a pickup.

I'll never forget Trevor Philips delivering a lecture to undergraduates at the university of Sussex in the early nineties bemoaning the fact that, unlike in his days, they weren't "marauding around in a leather kilt brandishing a copy of the little red book."

The train I'm on just told me that it would not be stopping at Cambridge South. Which is good as it's not opened yet.

Out of interest, are there any other places the size of Cambridge with three, possibly four, train stations?

Wasn't expecting @anonopin.bsky.social to take an infrastructural turn.
It's a real shame that no-one publishes a 3D map of our cities that shows the underground as well as the surface. Seeing the tunnels used by pedestrians, trains, roads, clean water, sewage, gas and electricity would be great. Hidden infrastructure that needs to be seen.
