Thanks John. The First Fire of Halloween is an illustrated children’s novel set in the town in Ireland where the first fires were lit for Samhain. A shape-changing púca awakes in the modern world. On the night when people wander around wearing monster masks, a monster is out wearing a human mask.

Concept artist always struck me as a dream job, though I never ended up trying to get into it. This new trend stinks of something we were very wary of when I worked in advertising. The more finished a visual in a pitch is, the less likely the client is to understand it’s an early stage of the work.
