We have the collective power to limit suffering and embrace love and mercy. Stop looking for god out there and start doing the right thing, and you'll find god is right there with you.

When your hands feed a starving baby, that's the divine spark acting in you and through you. And when you starve the baby, that's the manichaean opposite, satan in christocentric terms, acting in you. The gnostics got it right, no one alone is god but collectively we make up all the shattered parts.

Presumably like a tangerine but 3 slices upsvex••westchron on the quaternion flavor surface, so nothing like a tangerine and more like the difference between what you remember a tangerine to be like and what it actually is, with a faint taste of ultraviolet added.

"No you see this 1488 tatto is just in honor of the year Bartolomeu Dias rounded the Cape of Good Hope, why, what did you possibly think it could have meant? Oh, that? Well, guess I'll cover it up with a nice omega *coverup tattoo of an odal rune*"

The figshare link says the title of the paper and then... nature methods says it doesn't exist and a google search only returns that figshare page. So uh this paper might not exist.

The actual numbers are made-up bullshit and he's generally made prices go up. But what he's trying to communicate is the inverse of markup. If I mark up by 600%, the new price is 7x the old. So "-600%" he's trying to communicate a new price 1/7 of the old. We don't have good language to convey this.

Yes, and as someone who has had a bad experience, I would like people to be aware that sometimes they can also threaten lives, especially when underlying health shifts and obviates the need for them. They are valuable and lifesaving and also require caution due to danger. Two things can be true.

As an expert in a field, our easy explanations are often oversimplifications for "it's very complex and we barely understand it but it seems to follow these models," but also I have experienced at least one thing that cannot be explained without assuming metaphysics, so I am reluctant to discuss it.

It's all intersectional, the very idea that you can dictate who fits where within the hierarchy, whether based on race or orientation or labor rank, presumes the hierarchy must exist. There must be a power differential to abuse power.

Shrug I'm just going to assume your opinion is a spinor so 360° is a spin flip, and you need 2x360° to achieve the initial state.

I believe in unions and strong labor and abolition from unjust hierarchy, where all stakeholders are continued and no one is exploited. And also the only way to do this is with pluralism. You have to let people be free to disagree. Reconciliation of adversarial positions is how we improve consensus.

Same with Reagan/Bush era conservatives, yes we disagree on economic fundamentals but right now the very baseline of civil and plural society is under attack, and preserving this common ground is how we make disagreement safe and possible. Labor freedom requires bedrock democracy, not autocracy.

Let's be fair here: almost always, the right and center (and even center-left) sell out their society to fascism rather than see the left in power. So when groups I disagree with often, like Cato, take principled stands for good values, that's above average. Uncanny allies are still allies.
