I've kinda missed everything about Shadow Labyrinth but everyone seems to like it, so it's at least on my radar now
Tinkle Pit is so good just to play. Then you can work out how to get each stage's secret cameo item, ways to clear each stage in 1 chain, the extra scoring mode you trigger. Love it

Tinkle Pit ended original maze games on such a high other dev's had to add platforms to their maze games so people could say the word Metroidvania🤔
At least Namco kept real maze games going with the Pacman, Rally-X & Mappy Arrangements + the Pacman CE stuff

they're old but there also a bunch which have never been ported before, some which can' be emulated properly & even some which weren't even publicly dumped, so they're also new

I'm not even sure if that was shown when it was new as the NES was never that big a thing in the UK until the very end of the 80s / start of the 90s? I know what the Zelda cartoon looks like but I definitely never saw it on TV at the time when I'd watch action cartoons, which was to about 1989ish

Honestly, I've never seen that before. Only Mario TV show I ever saw was the one with the fat guy dressed up between the cartoon bits. I'd have been a bit old for that show by the time it reached the UK as I grew up on 80s cartoon

I could accept FZero if people were more excited about the graphics & music but Mario 4 was just so much bigger & better than anything that had come before. Such a perfect game

they're all Pacman clones, like nearly all games are. Pacman moved about, collected some things, did some stuff. Very few games where you can't do all of this🤔

if you ever had the misfortune to read an issue of Edge in the mid-90s you would have believed that 3DFX cards & various types of lighting & shading effects were the sole reason games had any type of future

tbh he just says there's a 3D Sonic doing fg moves as part of the new Sega Graphic Library that can be dragged & dropped w/e you want, so it just sounds like a basic 'look what you could also make' type asset. And with no images C&VG just used the AC fighting game for reference / to fill a space?
