Trying to convince my wife that we should take the long weekend up campering. High temps around 40⁰F. Lows below freezing. We could chase grouse and refresh the cameras. I'm not getting any traction.

Me and a happy Meriadoc after putting 2 birds in the bag and back in the truck before 9. I mean, Meri would love to stay and hunt, but that's our limit and it is raining pretty good.

Ran all 3 together. It was a madhouse for a while, but I got them under control. They flushed a rooster, but never cleared the underbrush enough for a shot.

Of the world’s more than 20K bee species, about 90% are solitary, and roughly a quarter nest in hollow stems. In North America, that’s about 1,000 species!
Solitary bees don’t make honey, so they aren’t territorial. They’re safe around kids & pets and fun to watch.

Samwise got 2 flushes today, but I didn't have a good shot at either. I did get 9400 steps. I think muddy cornfield steps should count extra.
