Worked hard today so I treated myself to a sushi dinner. Miso soup and hot green tea on a drizzly Hawaiian evening feels incredibly relaxing.

Had a little taste of Oktoberfast last week at the Aloha Brewing company event but I had to try to make my own fest at home! Homemade sourdough pretzels alongside bratwurst simmered in beer, stone ground mustard, onions and saurkraut. Got polka blaring in my headphones all the while.

Had a little taste of Oktoberfast last week at the Aloha Brewing company event but I had to try to make my own fest at home! Homemade sourdough pretzels alongside bratwurst simmered in beer, stone ground mustard, onions and saurkraut. Got polka blaring in my headphones all the while.
After a day stewing in a slow cooker, the delicious cocinita pibil from a Rick Bayless recipe was ready to go. The achiote paste and citrus juices tenderized and flavored this tasty Yucatan dish. Also made up some homemade corn tortillas and red onion pickles to go along with the instant pot beans.

Even the braintrust at the Hillary 2016 campaign had the minimum neurons firing to recognize that white text on red hat is awful optics for people just seeing it on the street.
