tried two different wireless keyboards to get into BIOS and none of them worked. And the only keyboard I had on hand was an old Apple G3 keyboard and it worked lol

Dusty krusty old motherboard, but was the first board my nephew played a lot of Roblox on. An FM2+ with a very rare to see on a dying platform, m.2 slot.

The only other laptop i think I could actually get and be happy with would be a used 1st gen Framework 13 from maybe a charity. Not in a rush tho, I don't like the keyboard layout. I like having my Page up/down buttons where they are.

I later bought the new next gen latitudes, and even later more recently with the 11th gen intel cpus. Both sold now. They regressed completely. They are a frustrating mess of a variety of screws, repairs take longer than they need to. Think pads have gone this direction too.

The screen is super easy to remove too. It also solves another super common breakage, the hinges, by moving the actual joint to the screen, instead of the bottom part of the laptop. And it uses a metal shaft for it to hold onto, avoiding the problem of the hinge ripping itself off the plastic
