Thanks to the Guardian, BBC News and the Telegraph for amending their reports saying research showed screen time damages toddlers’ language skills.

(The study showed a correlation between screen time and smaller vocabulary, but not that one *caused* the other.)
Government research doesn’t prove screen time ‘damages’ toddlers’ speech – Full Fact
A study found a correlation between very high screen time and lower vocabulary in two-year-olds, but it didn’t say that one caused the other.

Meme going around here that the Grok policy change (around only generating images when @ed by a paid user) was a “hallucination”. It wasn’t, it’s a real policy change; the misreporting is that this does NOT limit free users from generating images using other interfaces for Grok, such as its app.

The widely reported statement about restricting the feature to subscribers was a hallucinatory answer by the AI Grok - not a statement by the company itself
In case you've seen the story about “grok now only generates images for paid users”, it's untrue. Apparently everyone just reported it because… it was what grok told them 🤦🏼

No, Grok hasn’t paywalled its deepfake image feature
X’s sexual deepfake machine is still running, despite Grok saying otherwise.

Just seen Grok putting the body of the victim of the ICE shooting in Minneapolis into a bikini. Digital corpse desecration now available to the public.

I’m a Quaker and one of my favourite extracts from Quaker Faith and Practice is: “think it possible that you may be mistaken”.

It’s humbling to admit that we were wrong. But better to experience that discomfort instead of forcing damaging ideologies onto the world.

Most confusing genre these days - viral blogposts critical of AI which are themselves clearly written by AI.

New YouGov research for ippr finds that civic conceptions of being British are held by most people, with a third prioritising birthplace. Reform voters are outliers, against the general public view, weighting ancestry and ethnicity more highly
