Wish there was someone like him sitting on the Democrat's future-president candidate's bench. But they crushed Bernie and will never support a candidate that could actually inspire an effective opposition to the atrocious madness they've allowed to unfold.
This is, in my opinion, not only the correct moral/ethical/legal position but also the correct political framing. Everyone can see the agency is out of control; everyone can see that it is constantly violating human rights. "Scrap it and start over" is the moderate position.
Mamdani: "I am in support of abolishing ICE. What we see is an entity that has no interest in fulfilling its stated reason to exist. We're seeing a government agency that is supposed to be enforcing some kind of immigration law, but instead what it's doing is terrorizing people."

The Trump regime is already admitting they plan to attack countries like Greenland and hinting at doing the same to US states. This is lebensraum, this is fascism. We let it grow and now it's here. It's here and it wants to stay.
Maduro was a socially acceptable target to get this precedent established and build media consensus for further acts to come. Those cheerleading this will be compelled to do so when it's Cuba, or Canada, or a US state.
