In the face of a federal administration taking unlawful action to sow fear and chaos, it’s essential that city agencies follow local laws to protect New Yorkers and maintain public trust.

@nycdoinews.bsky.social’s investigation revealed gaps in @nypd.bsky.social's compliance that must be addressed.

Trump’s federal shutdown caused chaos and harm for New Yorkers. Now, @hudgov.bsky.social’s delays of Section 8 payments put families at risk and threaten housing stability for our communities.

New Yorkers deserve better from their federal government.

On #WorldAIDSDay, we reaffirm our commitment to combatting the prejudice and stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS and ensuring access for all who need treatment.

Together, we can and must eradicate HIV/AIDS. Thank you to all the organizations at the frontlines of this fight.

Yesterday, we honored Detective First Grade Faisal Khan on his well-earned retirement.

For 28 years, he has served with integrity and played a vital role in establishing the NYPD Muslim Officers Society. Grateful for his leadership, dedication, and service to our city.

Saddened to learn of the passing of Viola Ford Fletcher, one of the last remaining survivors of the Tulsa Race Massacre and a fierce keeper of our history. We must continue to carry forward her legacy, grounding our fight in history and truth. May her memory be a blessing to us all.

Access to doula care can be the difference between life and death, especially for Black and brown mothers. That’s why New York City Council fought to provide free doula services in underserved neighborhoods across NYC.

Now, Trump’s Medicaid cuts threaten to strip mothers of this essential care.

For years, the Showing Hearts Foundation has been critical in maximizing the potential of our youth through programs like the YouthPreneur Summit.

It was an honor to attend their inaugural gala and receive the Founders’ Guardian Award.

Looking forward to our continued partnership together!

Tierra Walker should be alive today.

Her death illuminates the public health emergency that is maternal mortality, which disproportionately harms Black, low-income, and other women of color due to the intersecting injustices of racism, lack of access to health care, and structural disinvestment.

At PS 48Q’s annual Feast of Love, we celebrated the community champions who play an important role in supporting our scholars!

I’m proud to have secured $350K in the city budget for bathroom and technology upgrades—an investment that will have a lasting impact for generations.

But our efforts cannot end here.

The next NYC Mayor, @council.nyc.gov, and State must continue working together to improve maternal health outcomes.

Holistic solutions must be paired with targeted investments to confront these persistent racial and systemic inequities.

Every preventable pregnancy-related death is a tragic failure.

In response to this public health emergency, we established a Maternal Health Steering Committee to advance policies and action steps to confront this crisis with urgency.

I spoke with @nyamnews.bsky.social about their work.

I was proud to present a @council.nyc.gov citation to Beckett Zahedi and Derrick Webster for creating their “Realer Estate” website, which helps New Yorkers navigate the housing landscape.

We need more tools like this to support residents searching for stable, affordable, and accessible homes.
