Zelda Outlands is a popular romhack of the original NES game. What makes it unique is that its sort of Metroidvania-ish in design that you don't complete levels in "Zelda order." You unlock items and can complete more of different levels.

To counter my tendency to factor my code in a million different functions, I have configured my editor to gradually reduce the font of each function I create, until they become so hard to read I have to give up. I call that:

I'm not a "train guy" but the trains in #Satisfactory are really endearing. I think it's the cheery little toot when they depart, but the glowing engine cylinders are cute too

Any painters out there that can give advice? I like the Bob Ross style nature paintings and I'd like to try and practice it, but I'm not sure where to get paints that will behave the same. I'd like to try something cheaper than oil paints, but it doesn't seem to work out right.

Was dealing with inventory management in a game last night and imagined a theoretical "Packrat" perk where you can always pick up another item but if you're over your encumberance limit you have to do a kind of rearranging mini game to make it fit

given how common the "you're the sole survivor of a spaceship crash on a hostile planet" story is in factory games, someone should make a reverse-factory game where you play as an alien tracking down and destroying colonizers who fall out of the sky and try to turn your planet into green tech cards

Fantasy RPG setting where cooking works the way it does in crafting-based video games, like if you assemble a sandwich just right it can let you shoot fire from your eyes and shit, so cooking is a tightly regulated art. You can get thrown in a dungeon for marinating without a license.
