Putting the emo in epistemology.

Boro boy representing Brits in Vermont. Mostly football, some education, standardised testing and reading policy, some qual ranting.
Worst first half of the season I think, stars:

⭐⭐⭐ Browne - grit, quality, endeavour, absolutely quality.
⭐⭐ Morris - similar to the above really.
⭐ Conway - a goal!

Need to get to grips with this here, not playing through their press at all. Far too many giveaways in our own half. #boro

Marc Guehi increasingly looking like having the career Fikayo Tomori could've had if he'd returned to the UK. Still find it a bit baffling that he's not got more of a look in with England given our recurring issues at CB.
January 19, 2026 at 7:05 PM
I actually think he’s more likely to succeed than he was at Boro (and not necessarily because he’s learned anything in the time since we binned him). That doesn’t mean he’s going to, but given how bad things were under Amorim and the players available for his system I could see it.
might have talked myself into michael carrick, permanent man utd manager, based on almost nothing.
it's interesting. he clearly thought about it, at least.

Erm
Broncos QB Bo Nix is out for the rest of the season after breaking a bone in his ankle on the second-to-last play of the game against the Bills, Sean Payton announced.

Jarrett Stidham will start against the winner of Texans-Patriots next Sunday.

I mean that’s a catch, what are they talking about.

Peacock running their audio through a sample rate reducer or bitcrusher, we love some commitment to lofi and noise. Tim Hecker approved!
January 17, 2026 at 5:33 PM
Dr Tottenham strikes again, wonder if we end up with Palace and Spurs essentially swapping managers.
January 17, 2026 at 5:02 PM
Once again, why is the Peacock Goals Rush show cutting away at halftime in the main game to commercials while other matches are ongoing. Completely defeats the point.
January 17, 2026 at 3:50 PM
That's absolutely dreadful from the City CBs and Rico Lewis.
January 17, 2026 at 2:06 PM
Very strange seeing Woodgate on the United bench. Would rather him there than ours mind, much as I love the lad.

Belated stars because I watched at the bar (Vermont Boro fan club up to five members):

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sammy - what a performance, his signature game in a Boro shirt. Delighted for him.
⭐️⭐️ Malanda - the absolute business, unlucky not to score
⭐️ Hackney - off the boil second half, still great.

You’ll never convince me that that’s an offside, Haaland had nowt to do with that goal.
January 13, 2026 at 9:26 PM
I do not even have followers (presumably something about posting mainly about Middlesbrough matches) yet someone replied to a post about the match the other day disagreeing with what I said and then added (verbatim) ‘that’s my opinion and I really don’t want to talk about it’.
One of the weirdest social media experiences is having somebody respond to your post, and then having them be offended when you respond back.

But there are legions of posters who react that way!

No shame in that really, thought we were the better team for long spells but their depth, fitness and quality showed the longer the game went on. Plenty of promise there for the rest of the season and, most importantly, no more injuries #boro

Hayden Hackney, what a player man #boro

I actually did change my mind as the year finished! Was Silksong on release, but i've come around to it just being too hostile, I still love it but it makes some choices I've come to really dislike. So now it's DK Bananza, a great game that's objectively not as good as Silksong, but *is* more fun.
What was your favourite game at the end of 2025? I'm guessing your mind hasn't changed in the last ten days, but do say if it has

Balatro both times, though I’m not as hot on it now as I was then. I was hoping for Slay The Spire kind of depth from it, but it just doesn’t have that kind of staying power.

TOTK then and now. I was actually more lukewarm on it than I expected initially but the Switch 2 version really catapulted it upwards in my reckoning.

Bizarre how easily Arsenal are getting past the Liverpool fullbacks, obviously Trent was leaving either way but surely Tsimikas was a better option than Kerkez.

Well that’s unexpected
🚨🔴⚪️ EXCLUSIVE: Middlesbrough agree deal to sign Leo Castledine from Chelsea on permanent move, here we go! #CFC accept permanent deal proposal with important sell-on clause included, all agreed with #Boro. Medical to follow soon.

Ooh this one is hard, then it’s probably a tie between SM64 and Pokemon, though (regrettably given my age then) I also played a lot of Duke Nukem.

Now it’s SM64 by itself, a game that’s aged miraculously given it was really the first proper 3D platformer.
Now we come to the furthest back I'll go, the year of my birth

Imagine speaking with this much confidence about something you’re impossibly wrong about, good grief.
London is considered one of the best cities for *foreign, imported/colonized* food.

Try getting anything resembling that in rural Northern England or Wales.

What I wouldn’t give for a Tesco Express over here. Where are my tiny supermarkets, America.
'British food is bad' has been untrue for like a generation and a half at this point but really sticks around in the U.S. U.S. supermarkets are inferior to their U.K. counterparts!

A tie for then between Goldeneye (a game I played endlessly with my brother) and Time Crisis II (one of the few post-80s games my dad has ever been super into).

Now it’s Starfox, or Lylat Wars if you’re a cultured PAL user like me. A perfect little experience and still the series high point
