Except that Mercedes defends the TBS title frequently. She doesn't even have eliminator matches, all of her non-tournament matches have been title defenses. If anything she's the one champion in the company who will guarantee defenses.

Exactly. I also think she'd have to reduce her indie schedule which I think she enjoys too much.
