I hope either Willow or Megan Bayne will be the ones to eventually dethrone Kris. Mercedes doesn't need the World Title right now and I don't think AEW needs her to win it just yet.

I think it's telling that the two matches Mercedes wrestled in Boston this year were against Athena and Red Velvet. 2 Black women who have existed almost entirely in the ROH-verse. The Athena match was a legit MOTY contender, Red Velvet looked like she should be seen on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

One thing I'd love to see AEW do in the future is have matches throughout the year that count as Continental Classic qualifier/eliminator matches.
