It's illegal for store gift cards to expire or get drained by fees, but not for others (e.g. cards issued by a shopping mall that are good for multiple stores within the mall).

Hard to say - maybe being in a forest while disguised? There was a reason behind it but it does seem oddly specific.

Another example often cited is stealing turnips. Dunno if theft of other produce was considered less serious or if the same penalty would apply to pears or carrots.

When I was researching my video about executions in Toronto, I was surprised to learn how many things used to qualify for capital punishment - over 200 different crimes back in the day!
