The old Daily Telegraph reminding its very elderly readers about something their minds have forgotten while they all sit around together singing that favourite song ‘When I’m Sixty Four’
"What is certain, and felt instinctively by almost everybody, is that things cannot go on in their present way" – The Times, May 1975

“It is difficult to imagine a previous period when such an all-pervasive hopelessness was exhibited at all levels of British life” – Professor Stephen Haseler, 1975

UK inflation is caused by profiteering

Since the pandemic electricity generation companies hiked profit margins by 198%.
Electricity/Gas supply margins up 363%.
Shipping up by 650 times.
Health and social work up by 118%.

People impoverished. Can't rebuild economy without ending profiteering.
If the government wants economic growth it must bring essential industries into public ownership
Successive governments clobber households and small businesses by hiking interest rates to manage inflation, but don’t inconvenience corporations.

This tweet has been doing the rounds on Twitter now that Nathan Gill has pleaded guilty.

If only someone had tried to investigate UKIP & Russian interference 🧐

There’s another timeline where the Guardian supported me, doubled down on the investigation & I look 5 years younger ..

Via The Independent: Donald Trump’s false claim that London ‘wants to go to Sharia law’ has been described as ‘appalling and bigoted’ by Mayor Sadiq Khan.

The Muslim Council of Britain responded: “We pray for Mr Trump's health and wellbeing as his hallucinations seem to be getting worse by the day”

Every day this Summer has been a record of how Nigel Farage already runs the country.

An endless cycle of hate & racism. One day boat arrivals, the next releasing ethnicity data for crimes, so we can know whether to riot if they’re brown or shrug if they’re white.

One of the worst features of the tabloid press is the constant claim to be reporting other people's "anger", "rage" and "fury", when in reality they're trying to whip up those emotions.

A more accurate headline would read "please be furious about this". And they could use the same one every day.
Express perception of "anger" at youth mobility exchange scheme as a "betrayal of Brexit freedoms" does not reflect the opinion of most Leave 2016 voters.

Why would taking back control rule out reciprocal deals with the EU, as with such deals with Canada, NZ, Australia. South Korea - and Iceland?

Saying “I don’t like Labour so I’m going to vote Reform” is like saying “ I don’t like this burger so I am going to eat this toxic waste tip instead.”
Imagine being that thick to vote for reform.

Why is it that whenever governments take money from the poor it is incentivising them to work and taking money from the rich is a burden on industry?

Fuck this shit let’s incentivise the rich!
