Took the widget to the vet because he's been peeing in the house at night, and that's not normal. They can't find anything wrong with him there, but did tell me he's got cataracts (no surprise) and that they're so bad he's effectively blind in dim light/at night. 😭

Furniture folks called yesterday and were like, oh yeah....your couch and loveseat will be there tomorrow.

Cool cool cool.

They call 10 minutes before they arrive to let me know that the loveseat didn't make it on the truck and they can't deliver it until Thursday. Couch comes ... with a tear.

I've been sitting at this desk since 9 a.m., and I've yet to get one of the four things I'm working on across the finish line.

Em is finally reading at the correct level. I had to start her with basic phonics last year because her old school didn't teach her squat but sight words. So in the span of a year and a half, she's gone from a kindergarten to second-grade level, and I couldn't be more proud of her.

"But the truth is, Memphis is infrastructurally racist. The schools, the roads, the housing — all of it is designed to keep poor Black and brown folks in economic servitude. The state government’s negligence & hostility aren’t accidental; it’s strategic."

Dad update: He's clear to drive in town and has been running my mom ragged doing errands. 😆 He has another chest x-ray coming up and then should get the OK for interstate travel, which is what he needs approval for to return to work out of state. Progress!

We're seeing a massive institutional deportation and state violence apparatus being built and it honestly feels like people dont grasp the sheer scale of it and what already is in place. For every horrific video of masked feds kidnapping people there are so many people pushing paper to help.
NEW: ICE is planning to build a shadow deportation network in Texas. A proposal outlines a 24/7 transport operation run by armed contractors—turning Texas into the logistical backbone of an industrialized deportation machine.

Dad should get the all clear on Friday to start driving again. It feels like it took forever to get here and also no time at all.

But of course, because his healing is going really well, the kink in all this had to be insurance. He's going round and round about who he can see in his network.
