I’m back home from my travels so I had a walk in my own neighbourhood in #Northumberland today - first at #Boulmer, where I reliably identified a purple sandpiper for the first time, and then, as the sun went down, to the Aln Estuary and #Alnmouth.

#streetphotography #newcastle #photography #black&white #Gateshead A few photos from Newcastle, around the Quayside & some from the Gateshead side of the Tyne river, I like it the look in B&W. Newcastle is a very old city, 2k+ years & has some fine architecture & distinctive accent.

We popped along to Seahouses intending to take a boat trip across to the Farne Islands, but the sea conditions were unfavourable. So a walk along the harbour was called for instead.

I guess when you're fully waterproof (and have useful layer of insulating blubber), you don't have to worry about large waves right behind you...
