But woefully inadequate. There aren’t a lot of fields we work in that one can be competitive with just an NSERC DG. But it has funded my RF work in large part for many years. So yes, thank you NSERC!

Yet UBC has climbed from a strong national university when I was an undergraduate there in the early 80’s to an international top ranked school. What contributed to that (in your opinion)?

This is getting ridiculous. Just imagine a 200 hp version in VW clothing. It could have 4-5 times the range with the same battery capacity. And still out-accelerate most sports cars from the 80’s. My 1980 Saab 900T did 0-60 in 9.6s and was considered a rocket ship.

Blake is right. As is Vinny. The problem is most letters do not detail any special circumstances or barriers that needed to be overcome or anything that would give someone from a disadvantaged background a leg up. They are generic and useless unless the prof really puts effort into it.

It took 2 years to build that Maglev line. How long do you suppose that might take in Canada? 30 years? 40 years? We can’t do a simple subway in a decade.
