Just some guy. Not a nutcase. I like various things.
He's a good dude and obviously knows what he knows but every time I check in on him he's busy litigating the most tiresome arguments on the internet with the most random of randos.

This guy is not planning on a peaceful transfer of power in 3 years.

I wonder if this guy will get a GoFundMe like the various murderers they celebrate and the lady who called a child the n-word on a playground.

Yeah, it's the same when I go to New York. The way some people talk about you'd think it was legitimately dangerous, but I've never felt even vaguely threatened there. In the subway or anywhere else.

Especially baffling were the scads of people who claimed her villain turn came out of left field, when it was among the most foreshadowed twists in all of fiction. Like, she had 163 dudes crucified in S4.

I liked S8 of GOT and the finale, besides Bran being king which I thought was a boring, if logical, choice. I think the unquestionable conventional wisdom that it's irredeemably terrible is more a reflection of our sheep-like culture than anything. I suspect most people are just mad about Daenerys.

The better you’ve become at curating what the internet looks like to you, surfacing the valuable and filtering out the rest, the less it resembles what “normal people” see. It’s like using a new computer without all your personal tools and tweaks. This is obvious, but easy to lose sight of.

This is pathetic.

I highly recommend tuning it out for a bit and trying to just enjoy what's good in your own life. We have no obligation to go down with the ship.

I agree, and I have to respect the thick skin. Dude straight up does not give af how many people dogpile him; he doesn't let bullies shout him down. Neither the Nazis over there, nor the tankies over here. And I'm sure he's not invincible, it must bother him sometimes, yet still he posts.

The "anti-war" rhetoric of maga was always so transparently shallow. The most predictable thing in the world was them becoming neocon warmongers the split second their god-king commanded it.

Yeah, I'm sure they're celebrating just like they were in Iraq. That you think we should kidnap the president of China indicates you have less than no understanding of geopolitics.

Well, the vice president of Venezuela is saying they can't find the president or his wife and is demanding the US prove he's still alive.

Like, I can't believe they're getting away with it. It's messed up.
January 2, 2026 at 4:09 AM
For sure. The guys behind it total creeps. Or at least, some prominent ones I'm thinking of. Elon is obviously a creep and so far, his AI grok is the worst offender. Even as we speak people on X are generating images of random women undressed, even little 5yo girls. I could hardly believe it.

The concept applies. Once guys can make pornography with something, they want it and it becomes widely adopted. In this case they can make porn with people who haven't consented to it, which has to be stopped somehow. Personally, I think legislation is needed asap. It's already getting out of hand.

He's a science journalist who wrote a book called "The Erotic Engine: How Pornography Powered Mass Communications, from Gutenberg to Google" Basically, it's about the link between pornography and technology and how porn accelerates the adoption of certain technologies.

"Pornography exerts a disproportionate influence over technologies at the stage when they are new and glitchy and expensive and difficult to use... They create an initial market that allows them to develop to the point where they’re ready for the mainstream." - Patchen Barss

I agree with you, but it kind of looks like we're going to have to crush our enemies or be destroyed.
January 1, 2026 at 7:26 PM
You shouldn't take this as a personal affront. I just can't shake the idea that 50 years from now people will ask, "Did they really do everything they could to stop it?" If the answer is unequivocally, yes, then so be it. I'm skeptical.
