It's a Pip!
@nopipbutcpip.bsky.social
Dice-wrangler, bureaucrat-whisperer, wearer of hats and bearer of walking sticks. He/him.

Adult human, well past the age of majority in my jurisdiction.
That's a new verse I haven't heard before. Well done!

Oh, I've been there. May the morning be kind.
December 13, 2025 at 7:28 AM
I like it!
December 13, 2025 at 4:02 AM
No, it's not. It's stating that we have different punishments based on your ability to pay.

You clearly believe otherwise. It's a fundamental disconnect in our respective moralities.
December 13, 2025 at 3:56 AM
This is no different from "either pay a fine or go to jail". It's repugnant and suggests that justice is for sale.
December 13, 2025 at 3:48 AM
And a "privilege" that the law affords only to the wealthy, and instead punishes the poor, should be anathema to anyone interested in justice.
December 13, 2025 at 3:44 AM
I definitely understand that.
December 13, 2025 at 3:15 AM
No argument there. Make it a required safety feature like seat belts and airbags. I'd be all for that too.
December 13, 2025 at 2:50 AM
It is! Thank you for boosting them so I could find out about them.
December 13, 2025 at 2:10 AM
It's a punishment imposed by the state. Otherwise it's functionally "poor folks can't drive, rich folks can buy a gadget that lets them get a different punishment".

I'm opposed to that in any case.
December 13, 2025 at 2:01 AM
The only use of "suggest" was by me, but one person's suggestion must be someone else's insistence.
December 13, 2025 at 1:33 AM
They started off with "PIP has AT LEAST one DUI."

Then went on with "How many loved ones have to be killed by repeat offenders in the name of "I drove drunk and because Im poor I should be able to just keep doing it?"

Then, they called me "willfully obtuse" and blocked.

I'm not sure what you saw.
December 13, 2025 at 1:27 AM
I don't blame the blocker for not seeing what I said in another thread on a different post.

On the other hand, they insisted I said something I didn't say, and got very angry when I asked them how they got to what they wanted to be angry at me for rather than what I actually did say in the thread.
December 13, 2025 at 1:12 AM
The same reason the state shouldn't make someone pay for an ankle monitor, or that they should charge someone in prison for meals.
December 13, 2025 at 12:49 AM
Not to be some rando on the internet trying to tell you how to live your life, but maybe stop there?
December 13, 2025 at 12:45 AM
Thank you. I doubt it will have any effect: they seem more interested in having someone to be angry at than an actual discussion.
December 13, 2025 at 12:34 AM
It certainly would be hurting you, I see.
December 13, 2025 at 12:24 AM
Where did I say that?
December 13, 2025 at 12:21 AM
Hell, I support state-funded ignition interlocks for first-time offenders!

Hasn't stopped some of the crazies out here from deciding I'm a murderous drunk thirsting for the blood of the innocent.
December 13, 2025 at 12:02 AM
Hell, I've been told I'm apparently a drunk thirsting for the blood of the innocent simply for advocating that the state pays for the ignition interlocks in all cases.
