Advanced uses of custom closed captions of youtube reminded me of annotations in terms of capability : text with his own background that you can add wherever you want in a video and can be set after publication.

The unwarned deletion occuring make me wonder if someone at youtube hate that concept.

yt-dlp --skip-download --write-sub --sub-lang en --sub-format srv3 (insert url here)

Youtube might be deleting all custom subtitles (aka subtitles with colors and positions) from his website. I’d recommand you download yt-dlp and get a copy of your favorite subtitles with the command above.

Let's be clear (and I'm not being cute): this is DHS trying to get ahead of the inevitable moment when they shoot a baby.
Controversial counterpoint: don’t shoot babies

If you have a discord for documentation or research, whether for software or whatever, please please put some effort into backing up info somewhere else. So many entire communities efforts will just implode if something happens to discord
Discord has confidentially filed for an IPO, according to Bloomberg.

I know I shouldn’t talk about games I didn’t play, but I need to get that out of my head : It feels like expedition 33 forces you to interact with it’s parry system, as simple at is it, while most rpg tell you you don’t have to interact with the rpg mechanics if you don’t feels like it.

A prominent commentator in the fighting game community, Sajam, has announced he will not participate in future EVO events following its acquisition by the Saudi government.
'It's a pretty big deal for me as a human': One of the FGC's most popular commentators is stepping away from future EVO events following its Saudi buyout
Sajam called the choice "bad for me financially."

Gonna be a bit of a doomer and you do you but I think that deleting your twitter account to make sure elon doesn’t train his ai on your posts is a pointless endeavour. How can you be sure that your datas are actually scrubbed off the twitter database when you delete your posts ?
so not just turn off or log off, *literally* delete it right?

Minor (?) complain about bsky and some other social network : The application send a notification when someone subscribe to you with a date stamp and I don’t see them expiring so they must stock that info *somewhere* yet you can’t see when you subscribed to an accompt.

That’s probably not great in terms of privacy but the internet archive browser extension can tell you how many times a page has been archived and even auto archive it.

There is a lot of website unarchived that may had a better back up if I had that’s in the background. You should install it.

Rewatching Joyfuul videos and I think most #arcade players would get a kick out of it.

The whole "sandbox with few constraints lead to people mimicking for the sake of aesthetic while strict rules forces to create something unique" sound like something you could extract a lot of milleage.
They tested my MINECRAFT CIVILIZATIONS hypothesis…

Discovered yesterday that you could change your settings so that sub replies show in a tree like in reddit, instead of having to click each reply that have more than 1 reply like in twitter
I don’t know the exact terms in english but it’s in something like "media and content" -> thread settings

Youtube changed his interface on my pc and for some reason they decided that the end of video screen should suggest less videos.

I don’t know if I should post this but since it’s probably gonna be relevant again when spider will post his full video

I didn’t really care about the "consentroidvania" thing at first but I think why a lot of people had a problem with it is that they think that spiders want to appeal to right

I think that a big problem with gamers trying to speak against compulsive mechanics is that they actually thinks the problems is that they compulse people to play games they think they are bad.
But when the game have "more going on" then anything go to make people hooked on their screens.
