Ableism due to ignorance is still ableism, by the way.

Impact is more important than intent.

Ukrainian suicide drones just struck and destroyed Russia’s Beriev A-60 experimental airborne laser aircraft in Taganrog.

The plane was designed as a testbed for Russian high-energy laser weapon

Some claim “Russia is ready for peace.”
Meanwhile Russia launches a massive combined strike on Kyiv - drones, Kalibrs, Kinzhals, Iskanders, ballistic missiles.
That’s their idea of “peace.”

Many disabled kids would benefit so much if parenting classes that focus on disability inclusion and the harms of ableism were widely available (so, free) to their parents.

💥 Explosions heard again in Kyiv. Russia continues to attack Ukrainian capital with missiles.

Lights began to blink after one of the missile strikes.

After midnight in Kyiv.
Monitoring channels warn of missiles.
Because yes –
missile attacks are, apparently, part of every peace plan 🙄

I don't know who needs to see this, but sensory sensitivities due to brain wiring differences are disabling.

What I mean by this is that some people have brain wiring that creates sensory integration issues... which causes the brain to over respond to sensory inputs.

A disabled people who is working, is still disabled.
A disabled person who isn’t working, is still disabled.
Disabilities affect everyone in different ways.

Work (or lack of) isn’t necessarily a measure of severity.

I’m still fuming over the language change on vaccines and autism on the CDC webpage. Vaccines don’t cause autism. That’s it. That’s the post.

These are also professions and specialties that autistic people (including me) heavily rely on – autistic people can die without these services

Many demographics are being hurt and targeted by this, but I don’t think it’s a coincidence that these are supports/services that autistic people rely on
ICYMI Dept of Education will no longer considers these professional degrees:

Nursing
Public health
Social work
Physician assistant
Occupational therapy
Physical therapy
Audiology
Speech-language pathology
Social work
Counseling & therapy
Health Admin

It would be great if non-autistic people would lift up Autistic voices, instead of talking over us.

Autistic people should be the ones leading conversations about Autism, not non-autistic people.

finally just got my sleep schedule back to normal after my last seizure a few weeks ago. Seizures always screw with my sleep and my day/nights get flipped for a few days after I have one. Takes my brain forever to get back to baseline.

🚗I finally got my Accessible Parking pass.

🔎 Reminder: not all disabilities are visible. You can’t always “see” pain, fatigue, or mobility challenges.

✨ Accessibility makes life more equitable, not to be judged. Be mindful of assumptions. Accommodations are about dignity, not appearances.

Greetings from Kyiv
and warcoffee.

Today, we honor the victims of the massive famine of 1932–1933.
Man-made, stalin-made, russia-made.
Millions of Ukrainians died.

Don’t ever ask us why we stand. You already know the answer.

We will always defend the basic services that New Yorkers depend on.
