Omg I totally get what you mean 😭 That soft, comic-y linework with a Sailor Moon style palette and all the tiny city details is so dreamy! I haven’t seen the exact artist you mean, but that style is super inspiring to me as well. I try to do similar cityscape vibes in my own work sometimes.

Yeah, it can feel a bit overwhelming at first. A good start is to look through artists’ profiles, check their recent work and TOS.
For sci fi costume sketches especially, it helps to find someone who already does character or concept design in that space.

Such a good call, it’s really hard to avoid AI stuff lately. Supporting real artists makes a big difference. I also make cute character/animal art myself, so if you ever want a custom cat poster, I’d be happy to help.

For what it’s worth, I’m comfortable working with mechanical and robotic characters, including more mature themes, as long as expectations are clear.
