I once made a pumpkin pie from a Cooks Illustrated recipe that included maple syrup and candied yams that was tasty, but it was WAY too much work.

I endorse berry pie.

Chocolate cream pie is Just Wrong. Make a flourless chocolate tort instead!

Wonderboys is about someone not writing a novel!

My pleasure, friend!

Hmmmm! I just went through the motions and am about to buy one. Why don't you DM me the address you want it sent to, then I'll buy it if it works, and then you can reimburse me. (I'm using a fairly recent version of Chrome if that matters.)

That was, thankfully, a good year for passive income!

Also, let's popularize the term "skeeties." I dislike "followers", as it sounds cultic. We're all in this together, baby.

That's the heterosexual stuff right there!

That's also part of what makes it just a faux-woke excuse to send him out to pasture. A golem-esque Bombi even appears in the recent reboot of the TV show Ducktales!

I didn't know his work was being taken out of print! He's great. I skipped school once to attend a signing of his at the comic shop in Bonn. I met my dad standing in line; he totally approved.

(As I am sure you know, there are ZERO lines for Rosa in the US. I hear people fly from Finland to the US to meet him to avoid such lines!)

Yeah, Disney is claiming that the Bombi the Zombie chapter in Life and Times is too racist to ever be published again even with a handwringing disclaimer, despite all the Klan stuff you can watch on Disney+.

I recently got into the duck artist Don Rosa, who does not get royalties for any of his US work and whose magnum opus is being taken out of print for faux-woke reasons, AND the stuff is owned by Disney. Would I pirate it? I might if my library wasn't good. But I got him some dough with this:

So as ever, "Don't quit your day job!" depends on the job...and what fraction of your potential audience is more likely to download from a pirate site than purchase your work or directly send money via some other means.

Maybe in Florida ;)

I once saw someone on Reddit justify pirating my book as "a tax on the golden elite."

I had no other employment at that point in time, and hadn't received an advance on my book. I literally had no money.

Those words made me want to cry, and to never write another word for publication.
