Trump is big mad South Korea is potentially getting a deal for submarines with Canada. This combined with the U.S. Ambassador threatening us about F-35s, it's obvious.

This is all about CUSMA.

What are the odds Trump has a ghost writer for all his social media or it's being run through AI?

I have a question for Dem leadership:

Why aren't there bi-partisan efforts to find any and all illegal things Stephen Miller is doing, launch investigations, and simply fill up his schedule so he has no time to fuck things up further? There are only 24 hours in a day, I'm sure you can find 25.

With respect to Trump's threats to Canada just now:

1) Release the Epstein files

2) TACO

3) SCOTUS likely to decide Trump Taxes illegal and *poof* goes that leverage. Carney team likely knows it. MC ran Brookfield ffs. His entire job was global financial risk management.

4) See 1.

Here come all the privileged folks living a life where they can have the courage to look down on us from upon high to preach while vulnerable people get kicked in the teeth for simply existing.

Yes, yes. The Dems are as bad as the GOP. All sides! All sides!

Bahahaha
The only Americans who can say that the Dems are as bad as the GOP are those who have the privilege of not dealing with the consequences of either.

It's privileged, lazy, and selfish.

@davidwcochrane.bsky.social I've been a fan of Power and Politics (and previous incarnations) since the early 2000s.

The Power Panel is the most broken part of your show and that at these crucial moments the panelists can't park their goddamned partisan spin is a fucking disgrace to Canada.

Kate Harisson is fucking insufferable to watch. Why are Conservatives INCAPABLE of rooting for Canada? Like, put your fucking partisanship aside and start standing up for Canada just once.

I'd feel this way too if I was a fucking idiot when it comes to international politics and rule of law. Moral of the story: don't be a fucking idiot and comment on things you're too dumb to understand.

Question: how much does the American defence sector stand to lose if allies no longer purchase their products? Is it billions?

Given the state of the US right now, is it even feasible to enter into any CUSMA negotiations at this stage? Other than serving some Canadian political theatre, we can't reasonably come to any deals under the Trump Admin; right?
January 7, 2026 at 3:12 PM
How on earth is Canada supposed to negotiate CUSMA under these circumstances?

It is an exercise in futility to put any effort into CUSMA negotiations when the current US Regime is existing as a mafia state.

We don't negotiate with terrorists.

Trump seizes Venezuela as if he's playing CK3. He's now rumoured to be appointing Miller as his loyal vassal.

Are these the nascent stages of the Second Dark Age?

Maybe this is all a takeout and Smith really just wants the money for carbon capture projects and the promise of a possible pipeline is the consideration. It's still infrastructure and puts people to work.

I would suspect the int'l consensus is that the Arctic will be the next theatre of war and it makes sense for us to integrate with the Europeans who have as much territory in the Arctic as Canada while Alaska isn't much.

Not only did he condemn Smith’s claim Peter Lougheed would support her attack on human rights…

He called her and the entire UCP caucus cowards.

Actions will have historical consequences
