Fear Effect. The controversial choice. Took Resident Evil hilariously over the top and loaded it with wall-to-wall mania. The only game where I ever tolerated tank controls because I wanted to see where it was going.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. One of my favorite games of all time. My first Castlevania, other than occasionally dabbling with my ex-best friend's copy of Simon's Quest.
And a damn masterwork in how awesome 2D could look and sound in a 3D world.

Rage Racer. I was tempted to put Twisted Metal here, but I had to give it to the racing game that show me how a real sense of speed could be made right at home.

Chrono Cross. Yes, it's the sequel to arguably the greatest JRPG ever made, but Chrono Cross took it a step further by dealing with the consequences of its predecessor's future.
The story was interesting and smart, the customization interesting. Chrono Cross, to me, was where RPGs grew up.
