Thanks, Syd. Every day’s a school day! I live in West Sussex, but very close to the border of East Sussex. I’ve only ever seen the blue version with gold martlets flown. Apparently East and West Sussex have their own versions but they don’t seem to be used often. This is West Sussex’s version:

Anyone know what the red flag with yellow symbol represents? The photo is from an article on the BBC News website/Sussex news about opposition to a plan for housing asylum seekers in a barracks near Crowborough

Morning ORCs! Beautiful blue sky and sunshine in Sussex. We live in a bit of a frost pocket at the bottom of two hills and very close to school playing fields that give North winds a golden opportunity to blow without obstacles in their way. Thermals are definitely being worn. Leo is staying in bed

I followed a couple of those websites in the last GE. One was inconclusive, the other called it for Labour. There were no Labour posters/placards locally, only LibDem and Tory. I went with my gut and voted Lib/Dem

Welcoming my team, Crystal Palace, winners of the 2025 FA Cup, home to Selhurst Park 🎊

Beautiful photos, Jay! Our cats sound very similar. Tara never went over 3kg her entire life.

Morning SORCs – happy #Caturday from Leo and me. Lovely time last night celebrating friends’ move to Spain. A few tears but lots of laughter. Off to find a gift for neighbour who’s celebrating her 70th tomorrow. Absolutely no idea what to get 🤷‍♀️

I thought the moths hadn’t reached the loft. I was wrong. We married when our son was 9. His outfit was a leather jacket, black T-shirt, DMs and a Sinclair tartan wool kilt (loved Monarch of the Glen). The effing moth larvae have eaten holes in the kilt ☹️

Morning CJ and #SORC ers. Maximum cloud cover and a nip in the air in Sussex. Today is Leo’s 14th birthday. He’s had his favourite breakfast and is now having a quick wash. Was going to name him Rory (after my favourite vet) but it didn’t suit him and when we realised his birth sign . . . #Caturday
