Good episode of LA podcast, featuring @awalkerinla.bsky.social and @sammyroth.bsky.social that includes a discussion about the Dodgers reliance on oil money, as well as the gondola project.

It's that time of year when Black Phoebes are the first birds I hear in the neighborhood. Soon they'll be replaced with Dark-eyed Juncos. One day it was a Red-shouldered Hawk but that has never happened again.

Veering off-topic from OP’s question, I would watch the hell out of anything with Jesse Plemons and Zach Woods. Have they ever worked together?
I'm reading The River Has Roots by @amalelmohtar.com and I'm struggling to figure out which uber-annoying TV jerk I want to have play the role of Mister Pollard in my internal brain movie while reading.

I'm wondering if anyone has any others?

Barcelona returned to the Camp Nou against Athletic Club today after a 909-day absence.

It took them just four minutes to feel back at home, as Robert Lewandowski fired in his eighth La Liga goal of the season.

Carole Turek is on a quest to photograph every single hummingbird species. The photographs in this article are incredible, but it's the video of her feeders in Studio City that will blow your mind www.audubon.org/magazine/mee...
Meet the Woman on a Mission to Photograph Every Species of Hummingbird in the World
In less than a decade amateur photographer and Hummingbird Spot founder Carole Turek has photographed more than 250 hummingbird species, including one that was long considered extinct.

A) I’m never fully satisfied until I see a Black-throated Blue
B) I saw the eye of a Hooded Warbler for a fraction of a second in Beidler which is just enough to convince me they’re real but not enough to count
C) You are neither Orange nor crowned, you’re just a vireo putting on airs, be yourself.

a) Blue-winged because its song sounds like a fart sometimes
b) Rufous-capped because I’ve put in a lot of effort to dip on it twice
c) Cerulean because they’re super rare in my county, but easily found in summer 45 minutes away

Lots of folks captioning aurora photos like "for a few minutes we didn't think about politics"

guess I'm built different, every time I'm out trying to see night sky stuff I frequently think about how much light pollution is entirely preventable with just a tiny bit of regulation

Audubon scientists analyzed the status of Latin American forest birds listed as threatened by the IUCN and projected their ranges under different climate scenarios. If we don't limit warming, many species could lose up to 100% of their suitable habitat. www.audubon.org/our-work/cli...
