What happened to just liking and being a fan of the show?

disliking everything made after Season 3. Feel how you want about the show, but both sides are too extreme. Extreme fandoms are nothing new for the internet, but while I can't speak for what Stephen Hillenburg wanted, he wouldn't have wanted this.

However, this seems like the kind of kids show that could have an episode legitimately unsettling for the target demographic akin to "True Colors" from Amphibia, so I'm going to wait and see if the warning is justified.
