The Figure will stop at nothing to reach INFERNAMUS – the key to godlike power, and the only hope to save his world. He must cross dangerous hidden realms – thankfully, he isn't alone. But when a demon offers victory if he betrays his allies, he must weigh the cost carefully

- The filing shows dozens of examples of Disney IP side-by-side with Midjourney outputs (pictured)
- Midjourney used these images in their own promotional material
- There's a damning interview Midjourney CEO did with Forbes where he pretty much admits to plagiarism

Disney has more reach than Midjourney.

They also have probably the best and most aggressive copyright lawyers on the planet – they've permanently changed IP law before to maintain the rights to their mascot.

There's a reason 'Don't mess with the mouse' is a well-known phrase.

Worse, they have the ear of legislators: it's easy for Altman and co. to say 'if you don't let us do this, China will win the AI race' – and no matter who disingenuous this argument is, it seems to work.

But here, the rubber band is on the other claw (as Disney-owned IP Dr. Zoidberg would say)

The very first #horror story I ever published is appearing now in print for Necrologia Zine.

I'm so happy to see it on paper alongside some badass art and other cool horror short fiction.

Naptime!
I learned today it's normal for mother swans to lose around 30% of their weight while laying on the eggs, they gorge beforehand to anticipate this

The heron came back, but he keeps a respectful distance

Pair of nesting swans buttressing their nest on the Dargle, just above the high-tide line. Surrounded by curious ducks

There was a Heron too, but they chased him off before I could take a picture

Nesting mama swan on the banks of the Dargle. This whole bank was flooded yesterday, but it looks like she knew to build the top of the nest just above the floodline

(Also, the swans in Bray are not aggressive bastards like every other swan I've met? What's the deal with that?)

I think we're a ways away from seeing a game concept from @summer-eternal.bsky.social (ex Disco Elysium devs with co-operatively owned studio), but their first newsletter goes hard

Bit weird being back in Ireland and seeing everything changed, but the Bray cliff walk remains stellar

"The Only Good Indians" by @sgj.bsky.social is one of the best horror novels I've read

It's a masterpiece of characterisation - the main cast all feel like people I went to school with

The most effective horror makes us buy in to the familiar before turning it on its head

Ancient Mesopotamian magic rituals - particularly those relating to the goddess Lamashtu, lion headed goddess associated with cannibalism and infanticide. Pregnant mothers would protect themselves with symbols invoking the demon Pazuzu
