Here’s the sign that was up at Dorney Park in the fall of 1996 advertising Steel Force. The ride was a tremendous addition for the park, setting the stage for about two decades of serious investment in the park.
Plus it’s a sign and signs are awesome!

I saw a rumor on the Facebook Dorney Park Connoisseurs group that this is White Water Landing’s last year. Was buried in the comments of a post about disapproval of paying for haunted houses. Still, could be true and you’ve been warned!

Six Flags call: Since AlpenFury opened at Canada’s Wonderland attendance has been up 20% over prior year, Fast Lane sales went up by 20% and they sold 100,000 more season passes in the weeks since. That’s a huge response to the ride.

Lastly the ride is just gooood. Great practical sets. Stunning animatronics. Appropriate animations. Just wild enough, but no motion sickness. Clear storyline where you know what’s happening even tho it’s loud and chaotic. And like I said, I’m so happy this was built! Feels lucky in a way. I ❤️ it.

Monsters’ queue is amazing, highly detailed and full of bits of info about what’s going on. It’s a shame the ride rarely has a line that requires slowly moving through it. The ride’s preshowA is quirky and has resulted in a new lowkey mascot for the Dark Universe. PreshowB is awesome, animatronics!

Monsters’ queue is amazing, highly detailed and full of bits of info about what’s going on. It’s a shame the ride rarely has a line that requires slowly moving through it. The ride’s preshowA is quirky and has resulted in a new lowkey mascot for the Dark Universe. PreshowB is awesome, animatronics!
Every so often the rides exterior puts on its own little show as power from the land is pulled into the castle to power the experiment. Or something like that. It’s fun to watch!

The last part of #EpicUniverse to cover is Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment. My favorite overall attraction at the park. I avoided spoilers so I only knew it was a dark ride using FJ ride system. Oh, and that the animatronics were real good.

It’s neat how the lighting before the fire bursts represents the horde of angry villagers arriving to burn the windmill and Frankenstein in it. #EpicUniverse

The Burning Blade Tavern is cool. Generally anything that bursts into flames (safely) every 15 mins is cool. It is very small inside and counter service only, and the demand is there for a much more robust operation. It’s a neat place to rest up for a bit when in Dark Universe at #EpicUniverse.

Das Stakehaus also has a big covered patio area that looks out toward the entrance to Dark Universe. I’d love to sit out here and enjoy the area… when it’s not hot.

Das Stakehaus is an expansive and neatly themed restaurant in Dark Universe in #EpicUniverse. The food is good (it’s great all over at Epic) and there are staked vamps all over along with moody lighting and in-character staff. I got my food FAST at all locations, btw.

I understand the reason for the track netting but it's just... very unappealing for such a beautiful world. I know it wouldn't be for many many years bc the park needs the capacity it adds, but l'd love them to demo it and have a real 'do over' with this plot. And I hate being negative, but #facts.

is generic and tho the swing launch is kinda neat, the sun is so bright I couldn’t even see what was in the building growling at me. The ride has grueling waits due to Express and poor overall capacity. Theming is nil and the mannequin at the end is literally a criminal action in my book.

Dark Universe at #EpicUniverse has one flaw IMO. Curse of the Werewolf. I think original plans had a theater at this spot and I wish that had worked out. The park is far too good for this ride. It feels like an after thought, and it may well be. The queue is plain and hot. The ride system (cont)
