Here’s the sign that was up at Dorney Park in the fall of 1996 advertising Steel Force. The ride was a tremendous addition for the park, setting the stage for about two decades of serious investment in the park.

Plus it’s a sign and signs are awesome!

NEW! At Hong Kong Disneyland, the JUNGLE RIVER CRUISE was one of just two opening day headliners. Serving as the park's "Rivers of America" (with Tarzan's Treehouse as its Tom Sawyer Island), this unique version ends with a battle of the fire & water gods. #ParkLoreArt #LayoutTuesday

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay announced Stanley Falls will be retired in early September.

This log flume, manufactured by the legendary Arrow Development, opened in summer 1973 as part of a $6.5 million expansion. Parkgoers have enjoyed its 40-plus-foot drop for more than 50 years.

I saw a rumor on the Facebook Dorney Park Connoisseurs group that this is White Water Landing’s last year. Was buried in the comments of a post about disapproval of paying for haunted houses. Still, could be true and you’ve been warned!

Six Flags Call: Over 90% of the company’s EBITDA comes from the largest 15 or 16 properties. I wish they’d list out those parks. About 12 are clear to me then there’s a bunch that seem similar in size. It feels like those 16 or so are safe from being sold off but they didn’t exactly state that.
August 11, 2025 at 7:36 PM
Six Flags call: the 4 Holiday In The Park events they cancelled will create an attendance loss of 500k, but they are ok with that bc they see those events as having been “lower margin higher risk.” Interesting that they didn’t try to cut some offerings to lower costs but cut the events instead.
August 11, 2025 at 2:39 AM
Six Flags call: the company is revising down their year EBITDA guidance to between $860m and $910m, down from original estimates of $1.08t to $1.12t.

While those are still big numbers to be making, that’s a huuuge cut.
August 11, 2025 at 2:34 AM
Six Flags call: Since AlpenFury opened at Canada’s Wonderland attendance has been up 20% over prior year, Fast Lane sales went up by 20% and they sold 100,000 more season passes in the weeks since. That’s a huge response to the ride.
August 11, 2025 at 2:05 AM
Six Flags call: Bc of debt load working “aggressively” on land sale of SFA and excess land at Kings Dominion ASAP. Also “actively evaluating other opportunities where similar value creation is possible.”
