Dems are the part of 'live to fight another day' and the GOP is the party of 'die on every hill'.
It’s been known for years that Trump was involved with Epstein. Why didn’t Dems use that against him in the last 3 elections? So they could get Bill Clinton to deliver a speech at the DNC, as if anyone cares? Or is it another “when they go low, we got high” thing?

There is some kind of anti-Darwinian thing going on with elected Democrats and especially leadership that selects for weakness rather than strength. We have gone from Harry Reid to Chuck Schumer and from Pelosi to Hakeem Jeffries, what a downgrade this is. And Schumer thinks he’s so savvy too.

How dare you say Dianne Feinstein is not up to the job.

How dare you say Joe Biden is not up to the job.

How dare you say Jerry Connolly is not up to the job.

There is no way that Biden didn't know he had cancer until now, which means they not only covered up his mental health but also physical. All for what? So the guy could have a lame duck term?

American politics is a game of chicken and the Dems always back down first.

Trump looks at a globe, spins it, closes his eyes then pokes it with his forefinger. Now he opens his eyes and says "Kyrgyzstan", then he spins two wheels. One has numbers and the other commodities. Smiling, he says "30% tariffs on sorghum from Kyrgyzstan".

Ultimately "the libs" exist in this space where they must be degraded, but they also must polite and conciliatory in the face of degradation. The other side has no such obligations. Such a political movement ("the libs") can't really exist for long that way. They will become something else.
I don't know to politely explain this but if you start a political movement bent on insulting people who disagree with you ("the libs"), eventually "the libs" will start feeling less sympathy for you. That's not the same as wishing harm, but ask yourself how society reliably functions.

Blaming the voters, even if it was true, is not a strategy. Scolding people will not win them over.

And the Democrats absolutely can and should do more, it's disgusting to have such a servile attitude towards them.

When the economy was melting down in 2008 many members of the GOP saw the writing on the wall and disavowed Bush. I don't know if the same will happen again this time, the GOP has become too much of a cult of personality. The US will become like Putin's Russia, angry at the rest of the world.

"During the Vietnam War... every respectable artist in this country was against the war. It was like a laser beam. We were all aimed in the same direction. The power of this weapon turns out to be that of a custard pie dropped from a stepladder six feet high."

FYI, folks from Bluesky. Reporters at The NYT, among other news organizations, are now generating a giant wave of accountability stories about the new Trump era. Reading these stories, sharing them, is a form of accountability as well. It is a form of participatory democracy too. Substance matters.

Any Democrat that is unwilling to expand SCOTUS when the opportunity presents itself is fundamentally unserious about wielding power and undoing the harm that the GOP has done and will do.
