I post the triathlon news stories that you won't read about in the other main sports news. I'm particularly interested in how the sport is developing across the world.

I'm not a triathlete now, but I was for 20+ years. Raced in the UK, USA, Germany etc.
50-years ago I watched a friend take money to do something he said he would never do. Everyone has their price, money ruins everything.

Fascinating, requires another World Triathlon rebrand. Can they "seamlessly the sport can merge its historically independent circuits into one coherent narrative"

If you enjoy regular and live short course triathlon racing, trithlonlive.tv is your place to go. Generally no geo blocks available via PC/Mobile.

They are putting up annual subscriptions a full $10 starts tomorrow, might be worth taking one out today at $39.99. I tried to renew mine early, no go.

Those that are single; those that want to be single; those that will be single; and those whose partner has an extreme hobby!

In other news, I've entered my 198th race, I have until September to get fit. I'm going back to Union Res. in Longmont CO - I had a full on heart attack there while running 5-miles in July 2017.

After my heart attack, I nulled out all my Garmin Personal records, after all there is before times and after. Never the twain shall meet.

How is my recovery from total knee replacement? Pretty happy so far. Have already walked 5k, and 3rd time in the pool in years, hit 10-mins for 400m. 4x 400m

You can visit the White House now, I understand President over achiever is happy to do a photo shoot with anyone prepared to give him a participation medal.

Well todays the day. I'm heading back to the pool this afternoon to try and get fit after my total knee replacement in November. I'm 40lbs over my old race weight and expect today to be a tough lesson.

I wore this t-shirt to remind me I once knew what I was doing and how.

And it's getting cheaper by the month.

January marks the 10th anniversary of taking over responsibility of the electric account while the builder built my house. I did that so I could submit for solar permits to put solar in the week I moved in. I have never paid a penny for electric in 10-years.

Found time to read the Telegraph's Top-50 women in sport. Disappointed but not surprised to find not a single triathlete in it, despite the picture to illustrate it.

This isn't about sport performance, rather influence, I would argue that Chrissie Wellington has had an oversize impact

Getting a total knee replacement was only the start. Hopefully no more surgery ever but note how the right femur developed a bow after decades of running on the lower leg.

The soft tissue, muscle and ligament realignment and stretching will take a long time...

I guess he did pretty well.

Watching Gwen Jorgenson come back from another injury and surgery was awesome. She obviously has some way to get fit but still a very admirable 6th in what was effectively a C-race.

The race itself was possibly the weirdest ever. A full sprint race in the Dubai Islands, women only, just 18-starters

They not only don't provide a calendar feed or export ability, but inside their web app they even block copy text.

The only way to copy the text so you can create a calendar entry. It's everything wrong with American Healthcare, 100% patient turnover, no patient focus

Today's update. Total knee replacement day 12. My time is definitely helping with compression tights to help prevent blood clots.

Also, I've been walking around the house unaided without much of a limp since Thursday. Lots more work to do though. Hoping to restart Rouvy membership before christmas

Today's post is bruising.

The bruising and swelling is off the charts. There is so much about this they didn't prep. me for This too will pass.

Who knows, it's 10:46am here in the Colorado flatiron foot hills, we are still in bed listening to a 96 track jazz-ish CD box set, drinking fresh ground brewed black coffee with an occasional sorte to the kitchen to heat up more Pillsbury Cinnamon rolls.

Now up, Nina Simone. It doesn't get better

I got the report back on my recently removed right knee. It's worth remembering this was originally declined as medically unnecessary by United Healthcare. I have none bone spurs some almost 4-inches 10cm in size - wholly fack.

At least I think that's what this says

I wasn't sure what to make of the juxtaposition of these two items in today's news sort list.

Weirdly, both appear to be phishing websites, and since I reported them, have been blocked.

1978 revolutionary limb saving surgery. 1992 reconstructive surgery mostly failed. Since then, some 196 races, 6x full distance triathlons, 30+ major events and age group wins. At 8am a new era begins, surgery time.

Car crash involes Ironman Arizona competitors in bike segment is something that should never happen.

Police said it "had minimal impact on the race" isn't what you want to hear. How about how the cyclist is?

It's coming up to that time of year that other businesses and companies prove ironman is no longer an active tradename.

This new York times report is about baseball.
