So we've given up on even needing to be lied to about why we invaded another country now?

Dune.
omg. Kat Abughazaleh just posted that if she's elected, she'll swear in on a copy of Octavia Butler's Parable of the Sower.

If you were elected to public office (never mind whether you'd ever actually run), what book would you swear in on?

No one shld lose sight of the fact that the Guard was only in DC as part of an extended political messaging stunt. The shooter is guilty for the attacks/carnage. Donald Trump is responsible for them. This is the collateral damage of Trump abusing his powers as President.
Pirro: "These Guardsmen and all who are here to protect the District are the line that separates a civilized society from a barbaric one."

On a dark desert highway
Cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas
Rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance
I saw a shimmering light
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
I had to stop for the night
The year was 1778
How I wish I was in Sherbrooke now
A letter of marque came from the king
To the scummiest vessel I'd ever seen
God damn them all
I was told we’d cruise the seas for American gold We’d fire no guns, shed no tears
Now I’m a broken man on a Halifax pier The last of Barrett’s Privateers
There is no pain
You are receding
A distant ship's smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying

Dick Cheney was a monster who spent his time in office seeking to enrich himself with the cost paid in the blood of others. The sickening state our country and government are in are a direct result of his methods and actions.

@govpritzker.illinois.gov you just made a big speech about the right to protest and standing up to authoritarianism. How about checking in with your cabinet on this?

Hey @cnn.com why did you edit this? Why isn't this a bigger story?
Stephen Miller said the quiet part out loud. Trump has “plenary authority,” then suddenly went silent. Their plan wasn’t to be public yet. Clearly, someone hit the panic button in his earpiece.

It gets weirder: CNN uploaded the interview with the “plenary authority” comment edited out.
