hi callie :3

i gave up like 30 or 40 hours in iirc it was just really dull to me... the combat never changed in a meaningful way, it felt like i was just Pressing Buttons On Cooldown with no actual strategic choices

3 months later:
i couldn't bring myself to finish the game because it was too mid and i didn't feel like suffering through another 20 hours of extremely dull and repetitive buttonmashy bullshit so i could get the reward of an okayish 45 minute cutscene

i just hate having to encounter ads when i don't want to. shit genuinely sucks. advertisement is the death of everything.

i also don't mind things like e3 or whatever (even tho we don't do that anymore lol) because it isn't really trying to pretend to be anything other than an explicit, physical ad space that you walk around in to get advertised to.

my pithy market socialist position is that i think advertising could be allowed in an environment where it only exists in an opt-in format. like, a single website that is used only for advertisements that you would only go to when you're trying to find a product but don't know exactly what to buy.

i actually cannot cope with the idea that this is just how the average person lives.
March 7, 2025 at 7:33 PM
every time i am exposed for even a moment to what the average person experiences online in terms of ads, or even just going outside to a place with lots of billboards and posters and shit, becomes completely soul-sundering, day-ruining, rage-inducing.

doing my utmost to ensure that i am never marketed or advertised to unless i am explicitly looking to purchase something (like, searching for product recommendations when i need to buy a new household appliance or whatever) has made me insane, i think.
