3/3 We must not shut out either model when we consider conditions like Autism. Both things may exist concurrently: wanting medical intervention and also needing society to be designed in ways that facilitate inclusivity of people exactly as they are.

2/3 While some disabling conditions desire medical intervention for symptoms like pain, fatigue, or difficulty performing tasks, the social model calls on us to ALSO be inclusive & remove barriers in order to celebrate the uniqueness in ability.

I think most sent their lobbyists to try and negotiate when the first NIH cuts hit. Would presidents fare any differently? could universities all go on teaching strike together, like the writers strike?
