Software engineer living the dream in Silicon Valley
I’ve played every Call of Duty since the first one… but only ever for the campaign. Not interested in multiplayer. This new one only has online co-op campaign. It started pulling other people in and I quit and uninstalled. I stopped playing Battlefield when they did this.
Is Activision happy with Call of Duty: Black Ops 7's launch? It's not celebrating like it normally does https://kotaku.com/call-of-duty-black-ops-7-player-count-battlefield-6-2000646316

Hey @cnn.com … Your article talks about “massive AI investments”. Maybe connect the dots better?

AI has always been seen by billionaires as a way to reduce headcount in favor of controllable IT spend… particularly software engineers, who are often highly paid. Just look at Amazon. Please do better.

Is the Epstein Ballroom built yet, or are they still doing asbestos abatement after the fact?

Maybe they’ll just ignore it, and everyone that visits the ballroom will get mesothelioma.

Thinking about Taylor Swift’s song Wood, and what it says about all the poets she dated before. In the UK we have a saying - “all mouth and no trousers”, which seems particularly fitting here

Dear God — is there any way we can double this rapture up with a reverse rapture where a whole bunch of bad people go straight to hell? I feel like this combo will fix a lot of problems.

Thanks

Man Flu may be the worst disease ever. And Man Flu A is so much worse than Man Flu B (though Man Flu B sufferers may disagree)

With Trump gone, will the trance finally break, or will the GOP members of Congress let JD continue the slide into fascism? More importantly, with Dear Leader gone, will MAGA let that happen?

So if Cuba invaded Florida, or Mexico invaded Texas, Trump thinks we just let them have it in the name of peace? Is that our foreign policy now?
Zelensky rejects Trump’s suggestion that Ukraine cede territory to Russia
President Donald Trump, who is due to meet President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Friday, suggested Ukraine and Russia could swap some territory to achieve peace.

Getting fed up with headlines like this. Oh, the Model Y refresh isn’t selling like crazy? When I see a new look Model 3 or Model Y, my first thought is that Elon being a Nazi wasn’t a deal breaker for that person… But for a lot of people it clearly is. Want to get sales back on track? I wonder if the hundreds of child victims think it’s a hoax? Or Ghislaine Maxwell, sitting in jail.

I don’t think Trump realizes this isn’t going away.

This story seems to miss the point a bit, and maybe the car makers are too. One challenge with electric cars is how heavy all the batteries are. Perhaps the real clincher here would be making a car with 500 mile range with 1/3 of the batteries so it weighs the same as an ICE car but costs less
Solid-state EV batteries with +1,800 miles range? It sounds too good to be true
Another company claims to have solid-state EV batteries in the works that will unlock well over 1,000 miles (3,000 km)...

One thing that doesn’t get covered in movies about WWIII: As NASA and SpaceX have shown, rockets blow up a lot. And it’s not like we recently tested those ICBMs. How many would blow up in their silos and turn the heartland into a nuclear wasteland, whether or not anyone else was sending theirs here?

This story seems silly. Ryan has invested in multiple companies and sold them for peak valuations (Mint Mobile, Aviation Gin). They paid next to nothing to buy Wrexham AFC, and even if they invest $100M into it, they then sell it to a billionaire and make bank.

The thing is, if a President can override their predecessor’s pardons, then the next administration can just throw all the J6ers back in jail. Except no they can’t because that’s not how the Constitution works 🙄

I was curious about the Opeth album “In Cauda Venenum” (Latin: poison in the tail), and specifically what modern words derived from “cauda”, as “venom” was clear.

Coda was obvious (tail end of a piece of music). I wasn’t expecting “coward” where “-ard” means “one who does”, as in “turning tail” 🤯

Oddly enough, the movie Civil War depicted a war where California and Texas banded together against the Federal Government… which seemed so far fetched in our Red/Blue mindset before Trump: The Sequel. But CA, TX, and NY pay the most Federal taxes, and may be the most aggrieved if the Fed shuts off.
