One thing I’ve learned about VO land is you can abuse friends + partners, ruin people’s reputations or lives, throw everyone under the bus, use people as stepping stones, behave unprofessionally, violate NDAs, recast projects and lie about why
But don’t criticize any of this or you’re the villain.

It took being personally hurt by multiple voice actors from different directions for entirely different reasons to ask myself “what is more important, getting to do this voiceover stuff consistently or my personal integrity and safety?”
And this was BEFORE an actor messed with my dog, to be clear.

I had a very similar experience when I was getting closer to the “industry” side of VO things. It felt like I had to compromise much of my integrity just to keep connections up, it didn’t seem worth it. Only came back to doing indie stuff more recently bc I can work w ppl I respect. I feel your pain
