'Cairo, Egypt. 3 Years since the 2012 revolution... 2 years since the re-awakening of the ancient 'Gods'. A lion headed woman is buying a pack of Marlboro Red from a kiosk in Arabic. The kid with her interjects: 'And a jelly cola!' as he holds the sweet up to her. She buys him the sweet in arabic. In the final panel, the woman, Bastet, 'Goddess' of war and childcare, a converted muslim' and the child, Hassan, who was orphaned in the revolution and is perpetually bored, are walking through the busy streets of Cairo. Their conversation reads: 'Bastet, do you have any superpowers?' '...' 'If you did, would you show me?' 'no.' 'you never do anything fun.' The title of the short comic is at the bottom. 'Hold my hand by Calico N.M.'

TW Cancer / family death

a really short two page comic I made about cancer that I really wanted to share despite the subject matter. This was made a long while ago, I just wanted to share it now because I came upon it in a sketchbook last week and scanned it in
Two abstract comic pages done in ink on paper. All of the dialogue is done by the narrator (me). Text reads the following: Page 1; '3 people in my family died of cancer. Usually, people try not to talk about it. That, or they talk too much. I don't like sob stories, so I'd rather laugh about it. But really, I can't help but think who's next?' Page 2 is covered in cell like patterns, some are spiky and growing wrong, uneven. text says: 'I'm not here to talk about saving anyone, it's only the least of many more preventable outcomes. Inevitable.'
