State Police don't answer to the Mayor or JC government, so there's an accountability issue there. Is that the same with the County Sheriffs (you might think since most of Hudson's residents live in JC accountability might be a bit better there)?

Thanks for the thoughtful response. Hopefully when/if James Solomon becomes mayor he will live up to his promise to enforce traffic laws more vigorously in Jersey City. Good to know that County Roads aren't an exception to the City's jurisdiction. I've never seen a Sheriff pull anyone over in JC.

I used to think that the worst part of being in politics must be wrestling with your conscience when you decided to approve the use of lethal force. So seeing folks who are gleeful about it really blows my mind. "I'm cool because I kill people" is quite the worldview.

I nearly got hit on this corner in broad daylight two days ago by a dude who blew the red light after the walk signal had been illuminated. Maybe a dumb question, but why can't JCPD enforce traffic laws in County Roads in city limits (not that JCPD does a good job enforcing traffic laws at all)?
