Yes. You cannot, as a country, allow an invasion by an autocrat in hopes that democratic elections will eventually tople them peacefully.

There are a lot of cascading systemic effects when age distributions change super fast and i think thats more what the talk is getting at

It also means fewer friends for the children that are had but with more responsibility and less representation of their cohort in legislatures, potentially radicalizing them.

Yes perhaps but with a broader lens fewer children means an older society which has shorter time horizons and can move on from old fights, which is destabilizing to society as a whole and punishing to the younger members

I got suckered by the "just a couple terms in the leg" thing and am consequently amazed at the skill with which Mamdani is handling the council and the governor. He is demonstrating in real time the alternative to lawless executives by coalition building, passing laws etc. Inspiration to all!

Im in chicago; it can feel bleak and we havent had it as bad as you yet. I had to try to yell at ice when i saw them; its not in my nature to yell at strangers but these nazis need people to stand in their way and nobody but us will do it. Godspeed. Im pulling for you, were all in this together
