Over time the regular hands on work has shifted to others and the role has become more of an architect role with emphasis on governance, advising on other people's hands on work, policy, improving processes, etc. There is still the occasional hands on project but much less.

I think it depends on the role but it can also change over time. I've got Sr colleagues who are and have always been very hands on day to day within the IR, SOC, VM, and IAM spaces. My Sr AppSec role started out hands on with pen tests, implementing and maintaining tools, etc.

Agreed, he could easily pay for or raise this himself there was no need to give him our tax dollars. Those dollars would have been better spent on many much smaller creators.

The config on this SSO is security theatre, especially if applied to all users.

I have similar requirements for admin access but constant reauth is ridiculous for anything that is not ultra sensitive.

A series I really love that may not get finished due to the author's passing is A Pattern of Shadow & Light. Even if it is never finished it is still tied as my favorite fantasy series with WoT (which I think Sanderson did a good job finishing). A series doesn't have to be complete to be good.

Whether GRRM does or does not finish GoT doesn't matter to me. If he releases the next one I'll reread the whole series but if not then I can appreciate it for what it was when I read it the first time. I don't know why "fans" continue to harass him about it, there are other books to read move on.

Same here, didn't see them but could hear them for 5-10 minutes.

By end of most days there is a coffee cup, soda can, and glass of water. Sometimes a tea cup, pot, or mug too.
