yeah the discovery tab is not really for me. I did solve the political grifts issue by blocking those accounts on sight. It helped. And honestly, I enjoyed it too.

I was seriously thinking of getting an Xbox, that week it was announced Persona 4 golden was coming to that.

The DC Artists Alley Hawkgirl was a close call for me; it just wasn’t the right time.

That Wonder Woman figure tho. I might have moved heaven and earth for that beauty 😍

This Romance of the Three Kingdoms 2 cartridge has sat in my NES for 30 years, and my son wanted to look at it today.

I played that one all night, until the morning light, many times in high school 💝

It might have been my first too. My grandparents sent me a huge box of comics in the 80s and it has a lot of classics.

Alan Moore Swamp Thing, and a lot of other good stuff.

Just one example: gamepass. Could be awesome. But I get the sense Microsoft can’t decide if that’s a loss leader or a money maker.

If I were them, I’d use it as a loss leader to spur adoption, but they seem to go back and forth; a lot of compromises between grand vision and bottom line 😔

I mean Microsoft is in the conversation, but there’s no one else who does what Nintendo does the way they do.

Microsoft has the resources (and I’d like to see it), but it’s not what they’re all about, the way it is with Nintendo.

And Sony is mostly just great consoles. Not games.

Oh yeah the consoles have been much more hit or miss (don’t get me started on those Joycons) but overall the Switch is probably their best ever and the sales reflect that.

I thought the NES and SNES were both peak too.

I’m not saying I like it, but Nintendos commitment to excellence is why they can do this and people will pay those prices.

No doubt. I’m not eager to get priced out, but I do respect that they’ve earned the right to roll that way.

Demolishing a massive but poorly led Liu Baio force is one of the ongoing highlights in Romance of the 3 Kingdoms games 🎉

Baio never has good warriors; despite Huang Zhong and Gan Ning hailing from his territory.

I recruited both last night- my strike force is now 💪 💪👏

One example of how staggers push the player to be more tactical:

In the last boss fight, the guy I normally use for spells and healing also had best the weapon for stagger.

I overlooked that the 1st time and lost. The second time I switched up healing duties, staggered it several times and won🎉

It is so underrated. And that combat system near the end, when you have to go all out to win the fights, really cooks.

The way it automated menu commands took some getting used to, but now I wish FF 1-6 had something like it (instead of always pressing A).

Castlevania 1 is solid arcade action, 80s style. It had different creepy music for each level, long before that was standard.

CV2 is more like Metroidvania. Not great but it added Bloody Tears

CV3 was pretty great. Added Beginning, plus Alacard and Sepha (who you can play as)
