So Google apparently didn't bother to finetune into Gemini 3... the fact that it is Gemini 3.

I'm super-impressed with Gemini 3's graphic abilities. Here I just asked it to make two infographics on something I wrote in a thread a while back, & pasted the thread. Only minor touchup done to them, like changing titles and such.

Feels like we're en route to obsoleting doing this manually.

Provided with a description of what a given meme template is like, Gemini 3 is quite good at generating memes.

His replacement stated that the company plans to return to its traditional values of providing soup for your family.

This has to be one of the funniest conversations I've had in a while, which can be summed up as: "Your food that you made from AI recipes is shitty and looks disguisting, and also it looks so good that the photos must be AI fakes or stock photos."

And for the record, the "sodium bromide" thing was a mentally ill man who had already decided, as part of his already insane diet, to cut our "chloride", and asked (an old version of) ChatGPT, with no context that he was talking about food, what substitutes for chloride, & got a reply like:

Here's tonight's menu. Boy, this is going to be tricky. I don't feel like cooking one of my squash tonight, my flour levels are low (otherwise I'd do the veggie crumble), and I'm thinking that red peppers and artichoke hearts sound really tasty, so I'll probably stay simple and do #8.
November 25, 2025 at 7:12 PM
Anyway, I'm getting super hungry now, so I'll stop here. I wonder what ideas will be on the menu tonight....
November 25, 2025 at 6:51 PM
Woe is me.

AI recipes just suck. I heard it from someone who got a recipe from GPT-2 and cooked it as though they had never operated a stove before, dontchaknow.. .
November 25, 2025 at 6:51 PM
I hate getting to specify how many servings I want, desired nutritional content, how long I have to cook, etc.
November 25, 2025 at 6:51 PM
I really wish I instead was wasting my time reading a person ramble on ablut how they lovevfall and how the recipe ten pages down always reminds them of a cozy night in.
November 25, 2025 at 6:51 PM
So horrible getting everything in my preferred measurement units in my own preferred formatting. It's awful.
November 25, 2025 at 6:51 PM
I just hate being able to have it prioritize ingredients I need to use up and have it adapt in the middle of cooking if something turns out to have gone bad or been used up.
November 25, 2025 at 6:51 PM
Clearly it's all gross stuff with the AI telling me to add a shoe to my recipe and bake at -20C, guys.
November 25, 2025 at 6:51 PM
It's so inconvenient getting a menu of 20 diverse ideas that suit how I feel in a given evening.
November 25, 2025 at 6:51 PM
I wish I instead wasted my time scrolling through SEO-ridden recipe sites for recipes that don't fit my tastes and involve ingredients I don't have.
November 25, 2025 at 6:51 PM
Man, I'm so deprived.
November 25, 2025 at 6:51 PM
Me, when people insist to me that AI can't possibly be good at recipes.... 🧵
