you think about life, how well you know someone, how quickly your window of time knowing someone passes. the last time we spoke was shortly before thanksgiving. she gave me a tin of ovaltine as a thank you for helping her. comforting, like ovaltine is, i was so used to her being my neighbor

over the years she'd knock on my door to ask for help opening a pill bottle. she once put her phone in airplane mode and couldn't figure out how to undo it. she would take our packages inside while we were away on vacation. she also poke her head out whenever i got food delivered 😂
