I very nearly shouted for a neighbor to just come hold the ladder a sec.

OK, almost this exact same story, except me having climbed onto the roof to do antenna maint. Then sitting on the edge of the garage roof, by the ladder, heart racing, trying to work up the courage to get onto the ladder. All the while, in my mind's eye, the ladder would flip out from under me.

...and NOW I get it. Oof.

HAHAHAHAH... I'd forgotten all about that one!
