🇨🇦 I've been hearing a lot of younger folk grumbling over Carney's speech when he told young people they need to make "sacrifices" -right they have to work 3 jobs to make ends meet, food banks just said they are no longer sustainable. Here's my message👇 to young folk:

Carney's comments are not surprising and here's why: This country has abandoned more than the younger generation, the slide into ignoring the needs of this country's citizens began long ago. The minute we started overruling unions' right to strike; when we stopped adequately funding healthcare; when we decided to offer MAiD to the disabled rather than a livable pension; when CPP and G.I. became so little female seniors became homeless; when three grocery corporations were allowed to take over and dictate food prices; when women's rights were put down on paper but not enforceable; when rent control and subsidized housing was abandoned; when there is no mental healthcare; when foreign fossil fuel ownership is prioritized over Canadian best interests... Over the past approx 6 decades I've watched our governments expect Canadians to accept "sacrifices" so it's not at all surprising the younger generation has been left to struggle-- I hope they are smarter than the rest of us and refuse to accept the government's cold shoulder.
