Thank you for all this. After I became too disabled to work, it took some time to come to terms with being pushed to the margins of society. But I’ve learned that there are incredible people doing amazing things out here in the margins ❤️

Thank you! I wish the average person truly understood just how hard it is to qualify for disability in the first place and how little the pension actually is. Disabled people have value and deserve a decent quality of life even if they are unable to hold a job

Yes America, there is another Thanksgiving, it lives next door
Was the first Thanksgiving in North America based on a myth or documented evidence, and which one was the first?

🤔 I remember a time long ago when the "left" and "right" used to reach across the aisle, shake hands and agree to pass a bill but now they stand in parliament acting like rabid attack dogs snarling and snipping at each other.
This polarization is tearing apart our country

Ontario’s Bill 33 expands policing in schools and will erode democratic oversight
Ontario’s Bill 33 seems an attempt to centralize control of the education system while avoiding real issues like chronic underfunding and understaffed classrooms.

Trickle down did more to rob the treasury than any other policy IMO, and coupled with political expediency, crippled our ability to provide for the most vulnerable.

I would LOVE to see that. If job creation is a major goal, renewable energy beats O&G hands down. We're losing out by not making a huge drive to green our vehicle fleet. It's an employment win, environment win and revenue win.

Old Age Security/CPP reform is a can that has been getting kicked down the road since the 80s. I learned about demographic shift and how it would affect pensions and taxation, all the way back in high school Canadian Studies. High school. 1988. A political 3rd rail.

100%. Our teacher taught both Canadian Studies and Economics, so he outlined the situation and showed the math. As the first Boomers retired the pool of taxpayers and CPP contributors would start to decline and without either a higher birth rate or immigration we'd have significant shortfalls.

The essential arrogance of him proposing that Canada join the U.S. is staggering. He doesn’t consider that we’ve been actively avoiding becoming Americans since 1775. I say that as someone who’s worked remotely for an American company since 1996, and I like my American co-workers. But I’m Canadian.

Think Russia trying to take Ukraine- that’s what 🇺🇸is doing. How many Russians objected? That’s how many Americans are objecting.

🇨🇦 Mark Carney has said that Canada needs to "do things previously thought impossible at speeds we haven’t seen generations." But that clearly doesn't include reforming Old Age Security or making the federal budget more fair for young people.
